Well,I've bitten the bullet and started off this Live Journal malarkey at the behest of my friends who want to read what I'm up to, so here's a brief blog for people who don't know me and have wandered here out of curiousity:
I turned 50 in March, so this is my Golden Year. Physically, I'm female but have a strongly transgender identity; some people call me "androgynous" or "two-spirit" while others call me a pretentious git, so there you go.
My main interests are in the field/s of occultism: practical magick, dream work, tarot and voudon in the Haitian tradition. I have met faeries and can assure readers that they are NOT twinkly, benign little creatures who want to save the planet, and neither am I :-).
In the "real world", cats are my passion - all shapes and sizes, from the most bad-tempered, rancid old tom to the super-spoilt darling of the Cat Show circuit, I love 'em all and they love me. I care for two - a deranged old tabby (Chocky)who scries in his water bowl and his red-furred, black-eyed nephew (Reggie), who is as cute and cunning as an urban fox and is my familiar.
We all live in a council flat full of books and interesting junk.
As I've been ill with M.E. for a long time I no longer work but am qualified to teach adults and am a "mature" student myself at the moment, reading for the MA in Gender, Sexuality and Culture at the University of Manchester. This is great fun and involves reading lots of dirty books and then sitting around in the pub talking about them!
And on that positive note, I invite you to step inside and take a look around at my day-to-day life; there is no admission fee and the toilets are upstairs, last door on the right.
